Capitalisation in practice: Preparing programmes for implementation

Capitalisation

While the concept of capitalisation is increasingly understood, many programmes, and particularly cross-border ones, still face difficulties in translating it into concrete programme practices. This requires going beyond communication and isolated actions, and instead embedding capitalisation into programme design, mechanisms, and support structures. Building on the Interact online course on capitalisation, this event offers an opportunity to help participants move from understanding to implementation. It will focus on how programmes can realistically organise capitalisation, taking into account limited resources and operational constraints.

Participants will:

  • Explore what capitalisation means in practice at programme level
  • Identify where and how capitalisation can be embedded across the programme lifecycle
  • Work on concrete approaches to strengthen capitalisation mechanisms
  • Exchange experiences with other programmes
  • Develop a practical action plan tailored to their programme

The event is primarily targeted at Interreg programme staff involved in capitalisation, with a particular focus on cross-border programmes and those with limited experience or resources in this area.
